Europe's Top 30 transport priorties

Europe's transport infrastructure is set to benefit from Euro 225 billion investment

In April 2004 the European Commission revised its list of 30 priority transport projects, which it declared to be of "European interest". The cost of these projects is approximately €225 billion over the next 15 years. Work should have started on all of them before 2010.

The eastern extension of major European transport axes to the new Member States is intended to help make enlargement a success and provide the Union with "a new opportunity to reduce congestion, improve accessibility and encourage intermodality".
